We finally got to the thing I wanted to do first.
We had a really hard time with the stairs at first we were going to make our screened in porch part of the house and put our stairs out there but then we decided that it wasn't the best idea and that we would sacrifice part of the living room downstairs and part of the dining room upstairs but it just got to costing to much money to cut a hole out of the floor joists and get all that ready so in the end we went with what the house had originally which was a spiral staircase. Patrick really doesn't like spiral staircases but I think it is the best option not only space wise but financially. Not to mention all we have to do is cut out the Sheetrock that is covering the hole in the ceiling because the hole was already there, so less prep work.
We decided cheep railings were the way to go until we hatched out a better plan. I love not having to go outside to go downstairs!
